John Wittmer is an associate at Patterson Thuente IP and a member of the IP litigation team. John is an experienced litigator who has successfully argued in the district and appellate courts. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, John clerked for two years in the Hennepin County Civil Court. Since entering private practice, he has represented both plaintiff and defendant clients in complex litigation, including construction, product liability, non-compete, negligence, and bad faith claims.
Prior to attending law school, John had a career and sales and customer service that spanned across three countries and a variety of industries, including banking, technology, shipping logistics, and health care. That experience allows John to speak knowledgeably about a wide range of trades and considerations, and to relate with clients at a level that extends past the needs of current litigation.
When he is not advocating for clients, John enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing basketball and camping throughout Minnesota.
