Jessica Ni is a technical specialist at Patterson Thuente IP. Jessica’s main roles include providing support to attorneys and conducting legal research and analysis for patent prosecution and litigation.

Jessica joined Patterson Thuente in the summer of 2021 as an intellectual property law clerk. Her scientific background in physics, astrophysics and computer science, has made her a valuable resource for our attorneys and clients. She works directly with clients and international associates and has traveled to Sweden and the United Kingdom to assist with innovation workshops and invention disclosure meetings for an electric vehicle start-up that is rapidly expanding its IP portfolio.

As an undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota, Jessica worked as a research assistant and investigated, among other subjects, stochastic gravitational wave background and magnetic noise in interferometers.

Jessica spends her free time painting, reading, learning languages (including Russian), practicing archery and ballet, and has an interest in pro bono work. She works with firm attorneys on pro bono projects through LegalCORPS’s Inventor Assistance Program and Volunteer Lawyers Network.
